I recently shot a DIY project with the Barbarian agency located in downtown San Francisco. The project was for www.kashi.com. It was a “green” sun latern. Here is the link below to check it out.

I was contacted today through facebook by a fellow Drexel graduate who also went through the photography program. I am pleased to say that I was more then pleasantly surprised after viewing his work. I say pleasantly surprised because the majority of my fellow photog alumni seem to have pursued other career ventures after Drexel University and its nice to know that their are other people still pursuing their dream as I am. He has truly become a innovative mind that redefines the perception of “the print”. His art and accomplishments are very inspiring and leave me wanting to push my own demiurgic limits.

I recently stumbled upon some old pictures that I took while studying abroad in Prague during my Drexel University years. It was a life changing experience that I will never forget. I’m not gonna lie, finding these pics brought on a pleasant, nostalgic, euphoric wave of emotion. I ended up doing a independent architectural study with a 4×5 camera that I trekked all over the country side and through multiple other countries when my semester was over. It was a beast to carry but now I still have the photos and not the sore back

Chaiken Clothing
Worked with a great creative team photographing a lifestyle shoot for Chaiken Clothing. We shot in a beautiful suite at the St. Regis Hotel in downtown San Francisco. 11 looks, 2 models, 1 MUA, 1 stylist, 1 assistant, 1 photog, 1 day= teamwork. I think we got some great shots, once again many thanks to all the helping hands.

Mariposa 70's shoot
Just got back from a great weekend in Yosemite. I took a creative team up to a Mariposa camper decked out in authentic 70’s furnishings. We rocked a great fashion shoot. Much thanks to Brandie, Tim, Melanie, Shannon, Alexis, Jaime & Martin.

We’ve all seen the album cover “Aladdin Sane” of David Bowie. But did we all know who shot it, well now you do, Brian Duffy. He was a legend to be reckoned with in the Fashion world of the 60’s and 70’s. To learn more about him, here is a link to a quick bio.

I worked with a designer last month who uses all natural fibers to make her clothing. We wanted to keep the look of the shoot fresh and neutral to match the expression and feel of the clothing. I used a studio space that is known for its plethora of ambient daylight. However, being that the shoot was two days and 17-18 looks each day, I had to make sure the lighting was going to stay consistent. I ended up lighting everything artificially. Living in San Francisco you can never be sure if it is going to be overcast or sunny, so it’s important to really study the art of lighting even if you prefer the look of “natural light.”
Both models were from Ford Modeling Agency, they were professional and easy to work with.
I recently shot some product for this designer who makes custom modern baby quilts. Her work can be viewed at www.ciucciobaby.com
I was very pleased with how all the shots turned out giving it a very clean modern feel which mirrored the blankets. I ended up doing the styling on this shot as well.
Here is a photo I took with an old hasselblad, black & white film, and my grandfather’s old light meter. This photo was taken of their bedroom the day after my grandmother died. My grandfather had passed one and a half years ealier so this was literaly the end of an era. The house that bore my father’s childhood was soon going to be dismembered between the sibilngs and finally sold to a stanger. This photo was entered this week to APA’s Something Personal photo exhitbit 2008.
So its been awhile. However I have made an early new years resolution to start blogging once a week. I have been shooting more and have a couple of photos to post. I recently joined APA and ASMP to try and embrace and educate myself as much as possible in the photographic community. I am still working on a the legal logistics to being a professional photographer and I figure these organizations will be extremely beneficial to me. Not to mention that I always enjoy meeting other professionals in the field. On a personal note, I have succeeded in two great accomplishments in the past month. Foremost, I did my first triathlon, The Mermaid Triathlon in Santa Cruz. Secondly, I ran my first half marathon, the Nike Women’s Half Marathon this past sunday. I met women from all over the country. The air was filled with such vibrancy its hard to descibe unless you witnessed in in person. I did extremely well in both and I am thrilled to partake in more events such as these in the future.
